A Mother and Her Daughters Find Home, with Support from PRC and the Season of Sharing Fund
After years of housing instability, Isabella
and her two daughters faced eviction
just as they were hoping to rebuild a sense
of home and safety. With nowhere to turn,
the stress of displacement threatened
their stability during the holidays.
“...The next month, the nonprofit Pacifica Resource Center helped her secure an apartment at a complex in Pacifica, and she moved in with her daughters and the elderly dog she’s had since childhood. ”
A Mother and Daughter Regain Stability, with Support from PRC and the Season of Sharing Fund
After a serious workplace injury
and a subsequent car accident left
Desirea struggling to work, she and
her 10-year-old daughter fell behind on
rent and faced the risk of losing their home.
As a single mom with limited income during recovery, the stress of housing instability threatened their sense of safety and stability.
“...Calling various numbers led her to the Pacifica Resource Center, a community partner for the Season of Sharing Fund. The fund was able to provide her with rental assistance, which was transferred directly to her landlord.”
A Family on the Brink Found Stability, with Support from PRC and the Season of Sharing Fund
After Arriaga’s back injury left him unable to work, his family of five quickly fell behind on rent and accumulated over $10,000 in debt.
“With pressure mounting, Castro sought help from the Pacifica Resource Center, a nonprofit that connects locals in need of aid with services and financial programs. Case worker Angela Picado directed the family to the Season of Sharing Fund, which in September paid for two months of the family’s rent.”

Make a 2025 Year-End Gift!
Double Your Gift, Double the Support for Local Families!
Make a 2025 year-end contribution to
PRC by 12/31/25, and your gift will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $100,000
by a generous local anonymous donor!
Dear Neighbor:
As we look forward to the New Year with hope for a better tomorrow, I invite you to join us in strengthening our community with a year-end gift to PRC. Your partnership is essential in our work to help more of our neighbors build their resilience and thrive.
And, your contribution will be matched up to $100,000 by a local, anonymous donor who is continuing their commitment to PRC and our community again this year. That means every $1 you give by December 31, 2025 is worth $2 to Pacifica Resource Center and the families we serve.
Our work continues to be vital given the high cost of living in our community. According to the 2025 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development standards, nearly half of Pacifica families are considered low-income, earning less than $156,650, or 80% of median income, for a family of four in San Mateo County (source: U.S. Census Bureau’s 2019–2023 American Community Survey). As a result, we have seen a 172% increase in services provided and we expect this demand to increase in response to current challenges to the social safety net, like this month’s federal SNAP freeze.
Your gift will help us keep food on the tables and roofs over the heads of our most vulnerable community members while growing our services to be more available, more often, to more people when they need us. Together, we are resilient and respond to threats to our community’s well-being with grit and grace. Together, #WeArePRC!
All gifts are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law; our tax ID is 81-1496989.
