THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING PALM-A-PALOOZA 2020!

Thank you for supporting our Palm-a-Palooza fundraiser on September 19, 2020 presented by Pacifica Resource Center and Grocery Outlet Pacifica.

Your generosity surpassed our expectations and helped raise over $40,000 for our important work!

In lieu of an in person event, PRC staff and board members delivered exclusive gifts to our sponsors on September 19. Then, over 175 of our supporters, friends, and family tuned in for a video premiere of never before seen content celebrating our past 5 years of events; Zoom interviews, including one with Chan and Diana Chu, owners of Grocery Outlet Pacifica; sponsor thank you’s; and, a drawing for prizes from some of our key community supporters.

A very special thank you goes out to Living Room Plant Co. for putting together the beautiful palms and terrariums!

Kevin Burleigh of Kevin Burleigh Productions is credited with producing and editing our Palm-a-Palooza 2020 video while PRC Development Coordinator Robby Bancroft and Pacifica City Councilmember Mary Bier proudly handled hosting duties. And, our video concluded with an inspirational story from PRC Board President Chris Hunter!

All funds raised through Palm-a-Palooza will help PRC continue to provide assistance to the growing number of Pacificans in need with groceries, emergency financial assistance for rent and mortgage, homeless services, and other critical services.

For example, nearly 1 in 10 Pacifica households earn under $25,000 and over half of Pacifica families earned less than $139,400 - the US Department of Housing's low-income threshold for a family of 4 (source: U.S. Census Bureau's 2014-2018 American Community Survey).

Thank you now and forever for supporting our vision to assure the basic needs of every Pacifican are met so that each member of our community has the opportunity to thrive.

Over 150 beautiful people (PRC supporters, friends, and family) tuned in at our Summer of Love gig for a fun night of live music, photos, Kool Aid, and far out auctions.

Music City Legends played some groovy tunes while folks feasted on appetizers from Oceana Market, BBQ from Fire 2 Smoke, and chicken and waffles from The Waffle Roost food truck. And, our choice evening concluded with brownies, and other goodies from The French Patisserie, served with Peerless Coffee and Tea graciously provided by Breakers Breakfast, Brunch, & Lunch.

Funds raised at Palm-a-Palooza help us continue to provide a safety net of food, housing assistance, and other critical services to the growing number of Pacificans struggling to make ends meet.

For example, 1 in 10 Pacifica households earned less than $25,000 and nearly half of Pacifica families earned less than $129,150 – the US Department of Housing’s low-income threshold for a family of 4 (source: US Census Bureau 2013-2017 America Community Survey).

Thank you, as always, for supporting our vision to assure the basic needs of every Pacifican are met so that each member of our community has the opportunity to thrive. Together, #WeArePRC!

Over 150 PRC supporters, friends, and family moseyed over to our Wild West saloon for a fun night of music, photos, “Palooza Punch,” and a rip-roaring live auction featuring Ed Gold of Stellar Fundraising Auctions. Foggy Coast Kids played some sweet folk tunes while folks chowed on appetizers from Oceana Market, brisket and tasty sides from Fire 2 Smoke, and chicken and waffles from The Waffle Roost food truck. Libations were courtesy of Lagunitas Brewing Co., Barebottle Brewing Co., Quintessential Wines, and Henry Wine Group. And, our rootin'-tootin' evening concluded with Krispy Kreme doughnuts and cake and other goodies from Mazzetti’s Bakery, Baked Beauties, Bay Cakery, and The French Patisserie, served with Peerless Coffee and hot cocoa graciously provided by Breakers Breakfast, Brunch, & Lunch.

The highlight this year was our 52 Card Draw. Guests were invited to give $100.00 each to pick from a giant deck of cards, cut the card in half, and place it into our cowboy boot piñata for a chance to win 3 nights stay in Las Vegas for two, including a show and airfare, valued at $1,900.00. Ed Gold selected the winner during the live auction and our winner was so moved by PRC’s mission and the generosity of our community that they donated it back to auction and raise more money for PRC. The lot was sold for $1,300 raising a total of 6,200.00 – $1,000.00 more than we expected after selling all of the cards!

Thank you again for helping us achieve our vision to assure the basic needs of every Pacifican are met so that each member of our community has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we are neighbors helping neighbors!

We’ll see you next year partner *tips hat*
