JOIN US FOR Palm-a-Palooza 2019!
Over 200 guests will gather for tunes, a live auction, and sustenance from the Earth provided by local food trucks and real hip cooks at Palm-a-Palooza on Saturday, September 14 at The Moose Lodge (776 Bradford Way). And, if you haven’t guessed by now, this year’s Palm-a-Palooza theme is SUMMER OF LOVE, presented by PRC and Recology of the Coast. Guests are encouraged to come in their grooviest threads. As always, all proceeds from Palm-a-Palooza benefit the local families PRC serves with groceries, housing support, and other critical services.
Please email email@example.com if you have any questions or would like any additional information regarding our event.
Thank you so much! #WeArePRC
Thank you for supporting Palm-a-Palooza 2018
A BIG THANK YOU to everybody who sponsored, attended, and supported Pacifica Resource Center’s Palm-a-Palooza on Saturday, August 18, 2018. This year’s Palm-a-Palooza was presented by Recology of the Coast, as well as sponsored in part by Ginny & John Janes, Sam Mazza Foundation, and Grocery Outlet. The dust has settled and we are happy to share that together we raised nearly $70,000 for our programs and services!!! Can I get a, “Yee-haw”?!
Over 150 PRC supporters, friends, and family moseyed over to our Wild West saloon for a fun night of music, photos, “Palooza Punch,” and a rip-roaring live auction featuring Ed Gold of Stellar Fundraising Auctions. Foggy Coast Kids played some sweet folk tunes while folks chowed on appetizers from Oceana Market, brisket and tasty sides from Fire 2 Smoke, and chicken and waffles from The Waffle Roost food truck. Libations were courtesy of Lagunitas Brewing Co., Barebottle Brewing Co., Quintessential Wines, and Henry Wine Group. And, our rootin'-tootin' evening concluded with Krispy Kreme doughnuts and cake and other goodies from Mazzetti’s Bakery, Baked Beauties, Bay Cakery, and The French Patisserie, served with Peerless Coffee and hot cocoa graciously provided by Breakers Breakfast, Brunch, & Lunch.
My highlight this year was our 52 Card Draw. Guests were invited to give $100.00 each to pick from a giant deck of cards, cut the card in half, and place it into our cowboy boot piñata for a chance to win 3 nights stay in Las Vegas for two, including a show and airfare, valued at $1,900.00. Ed Gold selected the winner during the live auction and our winner was so moved by PRC’s mission and the generosity of our community that they donated it back to auction and raise more money for PRC. The lot was sold for $1,300 raising a total of 6,200.00 – $1,000.00 more than we expected after selling all of the cards!
On behalf of our Board of Directors and staff, thank you again for helping us achieve our vision to assure the basic needs of every Pacifican are met so that each member of our community has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we are neighbors helping neighbors!
We’ll see you next year partner *tips hat*,
Anita M. Rees, Executive Director
P.S. There are several spots still available for our Beer Buy In from Palm-a-Palooza. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested. First come, first served!
Thank you for supporting Palm-a-Palooza 2017
Thank you for supporting Pacifica Resource Center’s Inaugural Palm-a-Palooza sponsored in part by Recology of the Coast, Sam Mazza Foundation and Pacifica Mothers Club on August 19, 2017. Together, we raised nearly $50,000 for our vital work in the community!
Nearly 200 PRC supporters, friends, and family joined us in our big top for a fun night of Ferris Wheel rides, photos with our Palm (name TBA by Mary Ann Nihart, our 2017 Name Our Palm winner), and a stupendous live auction. We served popcorn and cotton candy, marinated salad from Breakers, appetizers from Oceana Market, and dinner from The Waffle Roost and Moonraker food trucks. Our beer and wine selection was courtesy of Lagunitas Brewing Co., Bell Tower Restaurant, and Wine Warehouse. And, our magnificent evening concluded with cake from Mazzetti’s Bakery and desserts from Baked Beauties, Bay Cakery, Cheryl’s Shortbread, and The French Patisserie, along with Peerless Coffee lovingly brewed by Breakers.
As you know, funds raised at Palm-a-Paloooza help us continue to provide a safety net of food, housing assistance, and other critical services to the growing number of Pacificans struggling to make ends meet. For example, 1 in 10 Pacifica households earned less than $25,000 and nearly 2 in 5 Pacifica families earned less than $105,000 – the US Department of Housing’s low-income threshold for a family of 4 (source: US Census Bureau 2011-2015 America Community Survey).
On behalf of our staff and Board of Directors, thank you again for supporting our vision to assure the basic needs of every Pacifican are met so that each member of our community has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we are neighbors helping neighbors!
